The contracting world for cigarette production is guarded. Time-consuming networking efforts were required to get a phone call response. Many contractors refused to work with a non-tobacco fill material. Those that caught the vision for a green tea cigarette, and pilot testing agreements were reached, required 200-lbs of raw ingredients. Many tests were total failures, others proved encouraging; however, more testing confirmed previous impediments or lack of consistency weren’t being resolved. This occurred with firms located in the North and South America, Europe and Asia. Three of the largest independent tobacco manufacturing contractors in the free world, along with several leading equipment manufacturers and smaller specialty contractors were unable to meet specifications, the primary reasons:
- The blend collapsed during production.
- The material clogged packaging equipment.
- The product dried too quickly.
- Or the finished green tea cigarettes lacked structural integrity, draw and burn consistency.
It became clear that the entire production process — from raw material preparation to blending, conditioning, and manufacturing — would have to be invented.
Through persistence networking, the founders eventually learned of a newly patented botanical processing method developed by a South American company. It had recently established a production facility in the USA and was marketing its services. This discovery opened the door to a production solution.
By adapting and refining that patented process, the founders were finally able to develop a method for producing a stable green tea cigarette that maintained proper moisture balance, structural integrity, consistent burn characteristics and necessary commercial shelf-life
From Concept to Commercially Viable Product – Persistence Behind the NAKED Green Tea Cigarettes
Every new product has a story; some journeys are longer and more difficult than others. For the creators of NAKED Green Tea Cigarettes, the path from product concept to production and initial distribution took over 13-years. Proof of concept for NAKED Green Tea Cigarettes occurred quickly after the product sales commenced on Amazon in early 2024. Within the first forty-five days, nearly $10,000 in sales were generated. By the end of the second year, nearly 44,000 packs had been purchased at an average price exceeding $6.30 per pack. None of this results from Amazon and Google paid ads; they are not permitted.
Those sales were generated from Naked’s website blogs, Amazon listings and word-of-mouth. No other advertising has been utilized.
Brick-and-mortar distribution and creation of other related products are anticipated to be occur in late 2026. Concurrently, in-store, print advertising and other promotions would commence.
